How does the fallout of my parent’s divorce impact my ability to form and maintain relationships? My work focuses on the lack of control within my relationships, while simultaneously attempting to gain authority through manipulation. Using additive alterations, I controlled the viewer’s visual access; l covered details by layering images, along with having my parents paint over one another while I administered to gain a small amount of control. I grew to accept the unpredictability within my power and experimented with uncontrollable substances such as chemicals and developing film.
